Cosmetic Dentistry

Want a brighter smile or a nicer smiled? You can have Cosmetic Dentistry done here.

Teeth Whitening:
Tooth  whitening techniques vary from at- home trays and in office laser  whitening. Although the results and lasting effects are similar, the  costs can vary substantially. In order to keep the color of your teeth  lighter you will have to periodically whiten your teeth.

Many  attempts have been made to esthetically improve the shade of one's  teeth. Bleaching has become one of the most requested services provided  by the dental profession.  The bleaching procedures have been proven  safe and effective by the ADA.

The  procedure for lightening teeth is often referred to as tooth whitening  or tooth bleaching. Causes of tooth stains or discoloration are varied,  and lightening techniques are chosen based on these causes.

Causes of Tooth Stains:  Diets  and habits can cause staining such as coffee, tea, or tobacco. This  will cause the yellow to brownish stains.  People can also get staining  from medicines like tetracycline staining, dental fluorosis, or also  dental trauma or injury, or a nonvital endodontically treated teeth.  Also age as we get older the shade of the teeth is naturally gets more  yellow or gray, and these patients can esthetically enhance the color of  their teeth with bleaching.

Diet:
Avoid eating and drinking things that stain like coffee, tea, sodas, grape juice etc.

Porcelain Veneers:
Veneers  are thin layers of porcelain or pressed ceramics which are bonded on to  your teeth. Veneers create a spectacular smile make-over.
The tooth  is first shaved down, an impression of the tooth is taken, then it is  sent to a laboratory, and when the veneer returns it is bonded  (cemented) on to the tooth.

Things that veneers can fix:

  1. Teeth  that are discolored usually from stains caused by medicines like  tetracycline or other drugs, excessive fluoride or the presence of large  resin fillings that have discolored the tooth
  2. If the teeth are worn down
  3. If you have  teeth that are chipped or broken
  4. If  you have teeth that are crooked, uneven, or different shaped teeth.  Miss shaped teeth can have parts that stick out or are angled  differently
  5. To close spaces between teeth.
  6. To have a whiter smile.

Veneers usually only cover the area you can see when you smile. This means you can have a whiter, straighter, and nicer smile.

Porcelain Crown -  When a tooth is too decayed a crown is used because a veneer is not  possible since there is too much destruction to the tooth. The crown  will hold the tooth together.

Bonding - we  can fill in areas to cover spaces, size and create a nicer looking  smile. Bonding is like a filling it covers the areas that are  missed  shaped or too small.
